Age Is Just a Number...International Women's Day
Happy International Women's Day!
As we celebrate the dynamic women in our lives, in our families, in our communities, in our world, let us not forget that age is just a number. Women—young and old—are making a difference every day; having a profound effect on not only the people around them, but also on women around them. Some of them do not even know, or have never been told just how awesome they are and how much their contributions to this world, to the every day occurrences in life make a world a difference.
I encourage you, that if you have a young woman in your life that is moving, growing, and making strides in their lives—let them know how proud you are of them. Shout them out and acknowledge who they are and how much they mean to you. And, how much you appreciate and see their efforts. Encourage them to keep going, to keep dreaming, believing, and working towards their goals, no matter how hard it gets.
I do not have a daughter. When I do, I hope she is just like my niece, Nihemah. I am so phenomenally blessed by her life and her light. she may not realize this, but she is a phenomenal young woman with a bright future ahead of her. Though right now things may seem a bit hectic—no fault of her own—she has stepped up to the plate and has been a godsend in so many ways.
Her heart is huge, her spirit is bright, and she is so intelligent, and witty. I have witnessed the growth in her in the past five years. From a teenager to a young adult, and I could not be more proud of the woman she is and the contributions she is making to this world. Maybe to her she does not see it as such, however, I see it as everything. There are not too many young women in her position that could have done all that she has done, faced all that she has faced and still come out on top.
Nihemah's efforts and her hard work have not gone unnoticed. Everything that she desires, I pray she receives, and I am going to make sure that if it is in my power to make happen—that is exactly what I am going to do. wherever she wants to go in this world, I will make sure it happens. whatever it is she needs—I will make sure she has it. She deserves the world on a platter, and i know that God is going to make her heart's desires come to pass. She is my inspiration.
